Reflection of selective thinnings in quantitative production of a pine stand

anglais. Different methods of selective thinnings of natural development in the quantitative characteristics of the production of small pine poles is discussed. Based on results from the Zahorie region it is recommended to implement quality crown thinning by thinning target at intervals of 5 years to the extent of 50% on their crown circumference and culling selected individuals whose growth is least promising. Using this thinning method for 15 years the highest volume increment was obtained in the growing stock, and the selected target trees prevailed in their growth over other individuals in their surroundings
