Chasmophytic vegetation on moist rocky habitats (rock fissures, rock faces and cliffs) in North Korea was studied using the approach of the Zurich-Montpellier school. The Patrinio saniculaefoliae-Mukdenietum rosii, Mukdenio rosii-Selaginelletum rosii, Dryopterido saxifragae-Saxifragetum fortunaei from siliceous rock were distinguished and described. These three associations belong to the Saxifragion fortunaei (Saxifragetalia fortunaei). In this study all these syntaxa are suggested as new. The community with Selaginella stauntoniana from calcareous rocks was also briefly characterised. Brief notes on development, ecology, and classification of chasmophytic vegetation are given. The vegetation units of North Korea are compared with those from South Korea and Japan
