Various aqueous extracts and methanolic extract of Thai neem seed kernel (Azadirachta indica var siamensis Valuton ) were evaluated under field condition at Chiang Mai FCRC, Amphoe Sansine, Chiang Mai province; as to examine their effectiveness in controlling beanflies on mungbean. Treatments were Trition CS 7 0.08 % (T), 5 % aqueous neem seed kernel extract (NSKE)+T, 10 % NSKE+T, 5 % methanolic neeem seed kernel extract+T, 6.67 % methanol solution+T, and carbofuran 3 % G at 0.18 kg. a.i./rai applied before planting and T. Because of raining, the mungbean plots were sprayed only 2 times at 4 and 12 days after emergence. Insect count was made at 14 days after emergence. The result revealed that neem seed kernel extracts tested were not as effective as carbofuran in controlling beanflies (Melanagromyza sojae approx. 54 % and Ophiomyia phaseoli approx. 46 %) on mungbean.
