In this investigation the aim was to study the influence of essential oil of Ocimum basilicum L. on Sitophilus oryzae L. Solutions of essential oil of basil in concentration 0.05 and 0.50 in ethanol 96 vol were employed. The results of this study showed that both solutions have mild contact effect on Sitophilus oryzae L.
