The influence of Se-fertilization on the increase of Se content in Calendula officinalis L.

Because of a greate importance of selenium in human and animal metabolism, the influence of Se-fertilization on increasing of its content in marigold (Calendula officinalis L.) has been investigated. Therefore, an field experiment was conducted with three doses of Se (50, 600 and 1000 g/ha) and following effects were obtained: - increment of marigold flower yield (41-61), and - significantly higher level of Se-content in the plant tissue (3.7 - 74 times more than control variant).
