The follow up of birds species within the frame of the Brussels Capital Region environmental survey covers the greater part of the species breeding in the region. The study combines the survey of the evolution of the breeding population of each species with IPA technique together with specific surveys aimed to defining regression factors. Three results are developed. (1) Populations of insectivorous passerinae of the Soignes forest decline drastically for unidentified reasons. (2) The house swallow (Delichon urbica) is in its way towards extinction; and the reason could be independant of the availability of nesting building material. (3) Continuous survey of waterbirds may lead to assess some human pressure.
