This paper deals with routine techniques for preparation of wood specimens for light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy as executed at Tervuren and Leuven. In addition to the preparation of macerations, topics covered include: procedures for softening, cutting, clearing, staining, dehydrating, and mounting of the sections.
