(A study on the abundance of some predator and spiders population in alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) fields in El-Jedieda region, Tripoli, Libya)

Predators population in alfalfa field was studied at Jedieda region, Tripoli, Libya. Results showed that the total number of insects collected from March, until the end of October, 1987, was 8913 individuals, representing "7" families and 6 orders. The relative occurrence of htese insects were 37 for Chrysopa vulgaris L. (Chrysopidae, Neuroptera) and 2 for its larvae; 27 adults and 1.1 larvae of the coccinellids Coccinella septumpunctata L., C. novemnotata H., C. undecimpunctata L. and C. tredecimpunctata L. (Coccinellidae, Coleoptera); 1.17 of Syrphus corollae (Syrphidae, Diptera); 7.8 of Nabis ferrus L. (Nabidae); 3 of Tripolitanus kruger (Asilidae) and 0.24 of members of the family Libellulidae and 5 of the family Thomisidae.
