Connection between the production of economical profitable eggs and poultry meat and feed pollution

The basic factors determining production of economical profitable eggs and meat are composition and pollution of poultry feed. The analysis of poultry feed utilized in this republic showed that the feed and drinking water do not contain impermissible levels of nitrates, nitrites, pesticides and residues of their metabolites, pathogenic microorganisms and aflatoxines. In most cases the content of heavy metals of the analysed feed, internal organs of poultry, tissues and eggs did not exceed permissible norms. In Latvia it is possible to produce economical profitable non-polluted eggs and meat products on the base of local feedstuffs.
