Comparison of different methods of sampling of cotton jassid, Amrasca devastans (Distant) (Homoptera: Cicadellidae)

The number of nymphs of cotton jassid (Amrasca devastans) per leaf with a single leaf method of sampling developed at the Central Cotton Research Institute, Multan and with a whole plant sampling technique were similar. Therefore, the single leaf method of sampling still is the most reliable and efficient one. The population of jassid was higher on middle aged leaves as compared to younger and older ones.
