Theoretical foundations of the new market instruments introduced into Poznan Exchange (Gielda Poznanska S.A.) and Warsaw Commodity Exchange (Warszawska Gielda Towarowa S.A.), such as forward transactions and options, are presented and their suitability for producers and importers is analysed. A simulation is performed to evaluate the profits, obtained both by the emitter and the buyer, from introducing option transactions for the sale of imported corn into the stock market
