1985
Alsan, C. (Plant Protection Research Inst., Erzincan (Turkey))
In Eastern Anatolian Region, survey studies have been carried out to determine the weed species, their infestation areas and densities in bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) fields. Surveys were conducted in Erzincan (Central district and Cayirli) in 1981; Gumushane (Kelkit and Siran); Erzurum (Narman and Oltu) and Tunceli (Ovacik) in 1982; Sivas (Susehri) in 1983. According to split sampling method, survey area covered 1 of the total bean growing area of the region and countings have been conducted at 64 fields of larger than 3 decar in each locality. General observations and countings based on surveys were done from May through August by applying 3 frame of 1x1=1 square m for each decar of fields. Evaluation has been made according to the balanced average method, so the densities of weeds have been indicated on the base of districts and provinces
