An experiment was conducted on one-year old Asparagus officinalis plantation. In this experiment, the effects of N, K and Mg fertilization on growth, macro and micronutrient contents of soil and plant during the vegetation stage and some quality characteristics of spears were investigated. In our climatic conditions, nutrient uptake period of plants was extended till November. In 0-30 cm soil depth the level of P, K, Ca and Mn was highest on the I. sampling date (15.10.1993). The contents of K and Ca decreased considerably in the later periods. In the same soil depth, although P decreased with time, Mg content increased. In 30-60 cm soil depth, the content of Ca and Mg were maximum in the I. sampling date and K in the II. sampling date (19.11.1993) but Mg increased again in the last period
