Attempt to select forage sorghum was made on populations devived from F4 population and extracted lines of commercial F1 hybrid by pedigree selection method. Nine pure lines in F8 were selected and planted in experimental plots to evaluate their forage yields and nutritive values by comparing with commercial F1 hybrid and standard varieties at Phitsanulok campus in July 1993. The results revealed that all of selected lines gave lower shoot fresh weight comparied with commercial F1 hybrid. The new pure line KD6 gave highest shoot fresh weight. The fresh weight at booting date protein content, NDF, IVDMD, brix and HCN were 5813 kg/rai, 13.18 %, 79.36 %, 42.38 % 7.12 % and 95.93 ppm respectively. However, the yield of forage sorghum was varied by location and seasons.
