Gene pool analysis of several spruce provenances from Serbia [Yugoslavia] in test plantations

Comparative analysis of morphometric properties of 8 spruce provenances, from Serbia, Yugoslavia 5 (Golija, Zlatar, Cemerno, Radocelo i Kopaonik) and from Slovenia 3 (Menina, Masun and Jelovica), was carried out in laboratory conditions, nursery plots, and in tests established at three localities (in Serbia) with different altitudes, to research the character of genetic, physiological and morphological variability. These researches have provided new information on productive capacity of some spruce pravenances in the juvenile stage of development, in definite site conditions. Variability intra- and inter- provenance or group of provenances for individual sites has been researched in more detail.
