According to the obtained results on effects of Fenitrotion and Dimetoat on the total number of micro-organisms and the abundance of fungi in soil under the apple root stock the following can be concluded: The type of utilized root stock and the time of sampling significantly affected the number of these groups of micro-organisms. Dimetoat significantly decreased the total number of micro-organisms in soil, whereas its toxic effects on fungi prevailed during the initial stages. Fentrotion stimulated the growth of fungi throughout the whole vegetation, while its effects on micro-organisms appeared only 90 days after its application. The total number of micro-organisms and the abundance of fungi were greater in the rhizosphere zone of the root stock MM 106 than M9 in all investigated variants during the whole vegetation season.
