Results of microbiological control of food in Montenegro [Yugoslavia]

In 1996, 4736 samples of food were tested in Montenegro (Yugoslavia), 7.5 samples per 1,000 inhabitants. Microbiological control comprised 2662 samples or 56.2. The majority of samples were produced in Montenegro (industrial and home made products), and only small number of analysed food was imported. Microbiological contamination, was confirmed in 19.6 of examined samples. The most often contaminated products were minced meat, meat, dairy products, ice-cream and soft drinks.
