The use of membrane bioreactors in wastewater treatment is becoming increasingly important. In this report an external membrane bioreactor is studied with four different tubular membrane modules in series. High COD removal efficiencies of more than 90/ have been found which indicate an efficient operation of the membrane bioreactor. Suspended solids are removed for 100/ by the system. Fluxes vary strongly due to variations in the wastewater. High fluxes have been found for the PSf, hPSf and PAN membrane between 60-80 liter per square m hour.
