Seasonal development of the Asian corn borer, Ostrinia furnacalis (Guenee), was investigated in Yongde County in 1995. Adult ACB moth flight was observed using blacklight and pheromone traps and immature stages were observed by field investigation. The relationship between temperature accumulation and emergence of each life stage of ACB was proposed. The accumulation (degree-days) was obtained by measuring the area under a single sine curve fitted to the day's minimum and maximum air temperatures within 10.35 deg C and 32 deg C. Weekly catches of each life stage of ACB were fitted to the expected cumulative degree-days determined in laboratory. Equations resulting from regressions of the pobit of cumulative percentage of adult captures on log (10) of cumulative degree-days were calculated.
