Effects of crop rotation and tillage on the weed seedbank

Chemical weed control reduced weed seedbank in ploughing layer 30...53,4 per cent on the average. As a result of intensive potato raising in the end of the experiment weed seedbank in the soil was 75 per cent bigger than in the beginning of the experiment. Weed seedbank got beyond control because of several circumstances: manure that was used, contained a lot of weed seeds; plants formed their top poorly in the second rotation and there were top layer annual weed species with intensive seed production, scattered around the potato field. Influence of substituting ploughing for loosening and its influence on the quantity and composition of weed seedbank in soil was measured in cereal part of crop rotation. As the result of the substitution, weed seedbank increase in ploughing share in the conditions of 21...22 and 24...25 autumnal cultivation 38,5x10 (3) and 15,9x10 (3) piece m (-2) respectively (29,5 per cent and 10,8 per cent)
