The aim of this study was to compare the bioavailability of alpha-linolenic acid contained in four edible oils: soybean oil, rapeseed oil (a.k.a. canola), a blend containing soybean oil (Isio4-soybean), and a blend containing rapeseed oil (Isio4-rapeseed). Bioavailability was measured as the intestinal absorption rate of alpha-linolenic acid and its structural positioning on lymph triglycerides and phosphatidylcholine, in rats. This study mainly shows a better bioavailability of alpha-linolenic acid present in rapeseed oil compared with soybean oil. Moreover, bioavailability is further improved when alpha-linolenic acid is provided in a blended oil, namely Isio4-rapeseed
