The study was designed to investigate the industrial pre feasibility on synthetic vanillin made from clove bud oil by techno-economical approach. The availability of dried clove bud as raw material in the future was determined by using the simple linear regression method. It was found that it would be guaranteed. Prediction on the future potential market of synthetic vanillin was approached by using the data of imported vanillin to Indonesia. The result showed that it would have a good market prospect. The plant was designed to produce 219.395 kilograms of synthetic vanillin per annum. The processing plant location was determined by using The Exponential Comparative Method. It was found that the Industry Zone, Panjang-Sribawono, was the best. The proposed plant would run commercially with initial investment of Rp. 1.940.865.000,- while the needed annual operation costs were Rp. 674.045.000 for the fixed cost and Rp.8.272.935.100 for variable cost. The proposed industry was considered feasible, with NPV (at 21 percent interest) of Rp.4.163.892.119, IRR of 69.89 percent, the Net B/C ratio of 7.13 and the Pay Back Period of 00.55 year. At the decline of synthetic vanillin selling price of 10 percent and the rise in the production cost at 5 percent this industry would still remain feasible, but the rise in raw material cost at 50 percent would not
