The effects of irradiated chicken manure as feed supplement on the growth and heavy metals content of common carp

anglais. An experiment was conducted to study the use of irradiated chicken manure as feed supplement for common carp raised in ponds. There were three compositions i.e. composition A consisted of irradiated chicken manure; B consisted of shrimp waste mixed with the other materials; composition C was commercial pellet as a control. The feeding with the amount of 3 percent from total body weight was given to the fishes three times per day. The quality of food measured with the conversion value (amount of feed needed for 1 kg body weight gain) and the quality of water i.e. pH, temperature, and oxygen concentration were also measured. Determination of heavy metal content in fish meat and water were carried out using the atomic absorption spectrometer (AAS). Results of the experiment showed that feed of composition A (irradiated chicken manure) at 10th and 14th weeks had lowest conversion value than the feed of composition B (mixed with shrimp waste) and feed of composition C (commercial pellet). The content of haevy metals in all fish meat and water were under permissible limit, except for Fe content in water before and after experiment were found 5,92 and 1,01 ppm which higher than permissible limit for fish raised. There were no Salmonella found in the chicken manure. This means that irradiated chicken manure can be used safely as feed supplement for fish and has almost the same effect compared to the commercial feed. The water quality was found suitable for the growth of fish
Afficher plus [+] Moins [-]indonésien. Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai pelet kotoran ayam iradiasi sebagai pakan tambahan ikan mas yang dipelihara dalam kolam jaring. Pakan yang diberikan ada tiga macam, yaitu pakan A yang mengandung kotoran ayam iradiasi, pakan B yang mengandung kepala udang yang dicampur bahan pakan lainnya, pakan C berupa pakan komersial sebagai kontrol. Pemberian pakan dilakukan tiga kali sehari sebanyak 3 persen dari total berat badan. Kualitas pakan dihitung dari nilai konversi. Kualitas air juga diukur (pH, suhu, dan kadar oksigen terlarut). Analisis logam berat dalam daging ikan dan kolam menggunakan alat atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS). Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa pada minggu ke-10 dan 14 pakan A (pelet kotoran ayam iradiasi) menghasilkan nilai konversi paling rendah bila dibandingkan dengan pakan B (pelet kepala udang) dan pakan C (pelet komersial). Hasil analisis logam berat Hg, Pb, dan Cd dalam daging ikan dan air kolam berada di bawah ambang batas, kecuali kandungan Fe dari air kolam sebelum dan sesudah percobaan melewati konsentrasi yang diizinkan untuk kehidupan ikan yaitu 5,92 dan 1,01 ppm. Salmonella tidak ditemukan pada kotoran ayam. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa limbah kotoran ayam iradiasi dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan tambahan dan dapat mengimbangi pelet komersial untuk pemeliharaan ikan mas.
