The role of methionine during aflatoxi cosis young chicks.

Male chicks were fed diets containing (0.0, 2.5 mg) aflatoxin (AF)kg from 1 to 21 day of age . The diets were amended with additional graded levels (200, 400 and 600 mg) of methionine /kg to determine the effects of this compound during aflatoxicosis the results indicated that body weight gain (BWG) of the (AF) group (206.59) was significantly lower (P0.05) than that of the control group (331-39) However , no significant differences were found in BWG of chicks fed diets containing aflatoxin with every aded level of methonine when compared with that of control group.
