A study was conducted to determine the effects of chemical additives AIV-2, AIV-3, AIV-10 and Kofasil Liquid and enzyme additive Generator GL on lucerne, red clover, timothy and fescue aftermath silage. The chemical additives had an inhibitory effect on the fermentative processes in the silage, there was a tendency for lower pH value; the formation of lactic acid increased and that of butyric acid decreased. The preservation of sugar increased 1.8-19.3 times. Dry matter losses were by 2.2-6.2 lower, the nutritive-energy value of the feed was by 5.4-16.0 higher and the preservation of digestible protein was up to 16 higher. The enzyme additive lowered the quality of the feed, had a positive effect on the formation of butyric acid and lowered the amount of digestible protein by 4.5
