Trupa, A. (Latvian Univ. of Agriculture, Jelgava (Latvia). Faculty of Agriculture. Dept. of Animal Nutrition)
A study of 17-month duration was carried out, in which cow groups of the Latvian Brown breed were involved (n=50). The impact of four different mineral additives on the reproductive characteristics of cows, such as the service period, interval betveen calving the first insemination, index of insemination and percentage of pregnant cows from the first insemination, was compared. After the assessment of the mineral additives the most befenecial impact on the cow reproductive abilities was achieved by all the mineral additives, containing both microelements and macroelements. The highest evaluation was given to the mineral additive - premix B (Rekamin-RR), which positively influenced all the reproduction indices, except the number of the pregnant cows from the first time of insemination.
