Blood biochemical parameters in cows with or without periparturient diseases

The aim of the study was to compare blood chemical parameters of cows in groups without and with periparturient pathology. The impact on the further reproductive and udder health was also analyzed. Significant differences in blood parameters were found between cows with periparturient pathology (p.p.path. group) and without it (non path. group). Differences were significant for mean levels of holesterol, total protein, total bilirubin and kreatinine. In the spring time 22% of the sampled cows had low blood glucose.
