1999
Bobares, R.C. | Cerbito, W.A. (Department of Agriculture - Research Outreach Station, Babatngon, Leyte (Philippines))
Average egg production differed significantly for TPR [triple production red] under commercial and farmers' practice with 62 and 14 eggs, respectively. The native chicken laid 20 and 26 eggs for commercial and farmers' practice, respectively. A significant difference was observed in terms of average egg production between TPR and native chickens under the two regimen. Number of sitting per year for both TPR and native chicken ranged from 2 to 4 sittings except for TPR under farmers' practice that did not sit at all. The results indicated that TPR has potential characteristics to upgrade or improve the native chicken in increasing their body size, egg size, and egg production
