Development of new carragenan products from selected Philippine seaweeds

The project resulted in the development of three carrageenan products which are all in the process of being granted Philippine patents. The products are: Seamoy - an air freshener gel using seaweeds as base, Fruity cubes - gummy textured fruit-flavored candy gel made from seaweed polysaccharides from Eucheuma, and Eugintol - a pastille made from seaweed polysaccharides form Eucheuma and locally available throat-soothing substances
