Selected problems of estate insurance in agriculture

The main problems related to Polish system of insuring estate in agriculture have been presented in the paper. The author has focusses on the ideal features and the actual insurance market. On this background, necessary for existance of competitive insurance middleman system which can manage to operate efficiently without significant budget support, have been distinguished. The last part of the paper has been devoted to analyse the current state of estate insurance in Polish agriculture as well as the main causes of its regress that has been observed in the transition period
