Mobility of lead in soils exposed to heavy traffic roads

The mobility of lead and its total content in the Bydgoszcz soils exposed to pollution caused by heavy traffic were examined. Chemical fractioning of soil samples followed a sequential 7-step produce whitch allowed to separate and determine lead fractions associated with soil components. It was observed that lead occurred mainly in the residuum and in the fraction bound to the organic matter, whereas low amounts were found in soluble and exchangeable forms as well as bound to crystalline Fe oxides
