In six activated sludges collected on sewage putrification plants the total content of nitrogen and sulphur as well as different fraction of those elements were determinated. The concentration of determinated elements ranged in relation to sewage putrification plants and as means for all places were as followed (in percent of dry matter): carbon in organic compounds 35.5, total nitrogen 3.41, total sulphur 1.17 and total phosphorus 0.81. The total amount of nitrogen and sulphur in percent of total concentration in extracts of 0.5 mol/cubic dm HCl was 36.7 and 45.9 but in 6 dol/cubic dm of HCl 53.2 and 41.5 respectively
