This paper contains a detailed study of the camel breeds in Pakistan. The total camel population in Pakistan reaches 1.162 million heads ranking fourth in the world after Somalia, Sudan and India. The camels are used in many purposes such as meat production and physical labour. They contribute mainly in the farmers management systems in the difficult and drought inflicted arid deserts where they provide an important source of subsistence in terms of income to the villagers. Nine chapters deal with twenty five breed of camelidae.
