The influence of growth stimulator on the efficiency cultivation of sugar beet was followed in 1996-1998. Sugar beet was grown on heavy soils of East Slovakian Lowlands. The growth stimulator with commercial name Elorisan and its application and effect in sugar beet stand of variety Ibis were investigated. The winter wheat was forecrop for sugar beet. The four variants of Elorisan using were tested: 1/ incrustation of sugar beet seeds bz Elorisan, 2/ incrustation of sugar beet seeds and foliar application of Elorisan, 3/ only foliar application of Elorisan, 4/ control variant without application of Elorisan. Obtained results shown that using of growth stimulator significantly influenced yields of sugar beet because yields of roots were higher about 2.26-5.77 t/h than the yields from control variant. The proportion between yield of root and yield of beet tops had values 1:0.562-0.637. The lower values of this proportion were recorded on variants with Elorisan. Then the growth stimulator is possible to use for positive influence of biomass yield of sugar beet. The molasses-forming substances influence on sugar content and refined sugar yield. The using of growth stimulator in field treatments on Fluvi-Eutric Gleysol had positive effect on decrease of content of molasses-forming substances in sugar roots. The decrease of content of molasses-forming substances in sugar roots further influenced the increase of sugar losses in molasses. Higher refined sugar yield (about 0.403-0.830%) was determined at foliar and double application of Elorisan in comparison with control variant without Elorisan. The decrease of sugar losses in molasses about 0.129-0.230% at growth stimulator application was observed, too. The using of growth stimulator increased also the rentability of sugar beet production because higher costs for their application were covered by higher effect from sale of sugar beet yield
