Small-plot trial was realized in greenhouse on soil substrate which was prepared from loamy orthic luvisol and garden soil of Terravita brand. The sole influence of nitrogen nutrition and interaction influence of nitrogen fertilization and foliar application of saccharose on qualitative and quantitative characteristics of radish were investigated. It was found out that raising rates of nitrogen increased both the yields of bulbs and leaves of radish. However, and increment of leaf biomass was more expressive. Saccharose application on the leaves of radish which was fertilized by nitrogen caused expressive increase of underground biomass of bulbs and weak depression in aboveground biomass formation. Saccharose improved the transportation of assimilates from the leaves to the bulbs. At the same time the utilization of supported nitrogen for radish bulb biomass formation was higher. By this treatment an intake of water by bulbs increased on one side, on the other side the nitrate concentration in them decreased. Saccharose application reduced negative influence of nitrogen fertilization on Vitamin C content in radish bulbs. Nitrogen fertilization in connection with saccharose application seems to be effective from the economical point of view. Effectiveness of by one thirds increased nitrogen rate without saccharose application was lower than rational nitrogen fertilization in combination with saccharose application
