Imission control of SOX and NO2 in the Banska Bystrica region, Slovak Republic

This paper deals with monitoring the content of sulphur and nitrogen oxides in the atmosphere of the Banska Bystrica region. The measurement was done in the course of several years by the method of passive sampling. The sampling is spontaneous and follows diffusion laws. The results of the measurement indicate decreasing the SO2 content, also dependent on a season. The marked dependence of the nitrogen oxides content was not recorded. The measurement also offers useful information when selecting a location for recreational facilities in the surroudings of the town
