The distribution of acetylated tubulin in the pigeon and japanese quail testis

The expression and distribution of the acetylated tubulin in the pigeon and Japanese quail testis by using an immunohistochemical method were studied. The immunopositivity for acetylated tubulin was localized inside the seminiferous tubules in the late stage of developing spermatides and maturing spermatozoa before leaving the seminiferous epithelium. The positive nerve fibres were distributed in the intertubular stroma. Positivity was also seen in the nerve fibres inside the interstitial tissue of the rete testis, ductuli efferentes and mostly in close relation with the ductus epididymis and in the connective tissue of the tunica albuginea
