Actual state of the sets of stand types in forest regions as a part of the assessment of their ecological stability

The work deals with the problems of general assessment of ecological stability of prevailing management sets of stand types as to their area in the forests of Slovakia by the method of an expert estimate of area occurrence of the degrees of ecological stability. It is based especially on the assessment of the degrees of site suitability and comparison of present and typologically suitable distribution of management sets of stand types. There are analyzed the degrees of typological suitability, incidental felling, degrees of endangerment, mean defoliation, distribution of the units of area stand arrangement, stand storeys and area elaboration of forest stands, stocking, prescribed form of silvicultural systems. The results enable to compare the state of management sets of stand types being important as to their area within forest regions and to compare forest regions on the level of comparable units
