Needs for agricultural extension supervision of Kaset Amphoe in the Northeastern region, Thailand

Objectives of this research were to study: knowledge for agricultural extension supervision of Kaset Amphoe officers, and needs for agricultural extension supervision. The samples were 115 Kaset Amphoe officers from 19 provinces within the Northeastern region. The data were collected by using the questionnaire, and statistically analyzed for percentage, arithmetic means, and t-test. The results revealed that most of Kaset Amphoe officers were male with average age of 48.28 years. Most of them finished bachelor degree. An average service duration was 22.66 years, the period of present area working performance by average was 5.38 years, position grade of Kaset Amphoe officers by average was 6, an average salary was 15,115.83 baht, agriculture land area in responsibility by average was 230,512.5 rai, the number of Kaset Tambon in the area under responsibility by average was 8.83 persons, Tambon under responsibility by average was 9.58 Tambon, irrigation land area 26.1 percentage, non irrigation land area 73.9 percentage, project under responsibility by average was 20.63 project, 54.80 percentage of Kaset Amphoe officers had been known for agricultural extension supervision. It was found from the test hypothesis as follows: Different knowledge for agricultural extension supervision, the number of Tambon under responsibility and kind of area under responsibility had an effect in the needs for agricultural extension supervision. There was no difference in the needs for agricultural extension supervision in age, service duration, period of present area working performance, salary, position grade, education, load of work under responsibility, respectively.
