Effect if water-absorbent agent (cross-linked polyacrylamide) on dry season growth of Taiwan Giant bamboo planted from seedling

Addition of polymer in sandy loam soils for planting of 4 months seedling of Taiwan Giant bamboo during the month of December 1991-April 1992 at the rate of 0, 4, 12 and 20 gm per plant; found that watering every 7 days give no different in growth either with polymer or without. Application of polymer 12 gm per plant increase 136.84 percent of shoot production in February compared to 62.74 percent of 4 gm of polymer per plant.
