Foliar application of various dose of potassium for increasing sugar content of sugarcane was conducted at Suphan Buri Field Crops Research Institute in 1994. The aim of the experiment was to find out the optimum rate of application for sugarcane. The experimental design was 2*6 factorial in RCB with 4 replications. Two cane varieties Uthong 1 and Uthong 2 were sprayed with potassium chloride solution at the rate of 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 percent (w/v). Application of 3 to 4 percent solution can increased sugar content of Uthong 2 from CCS 11.2 to CCS 13.5 and 14.3 respectively. However every concentration of potassium chloride solution can not increase sugar content of Uthong 2 which confirmed the result of previous experiment in 1993. Detailed experiment should be conducted to find out the suitable application method for recommendation to the canegrowers.
