This study was conducted on Amasya and Grany Smith cultivars grafted on seedling, M9 and MM106 rootstocks in 1994. Limited water supplies and drought resistance ability of these plants were determined. Moreover, the phsiological and morphological changes of the cultivars as well as their resistance ability duretions in the watering regimes were observed. The differences between the drought resistance ability of all variety/rootstock were significantly important. There were not any differences between drought resistance of seedling and M9 rootstocks for Amasya. MM106 was seemed to be more sensitive rootstocks. M9 rootstock was the most drought resistance for Grany Smith cultivar and it was followed by seedling and MM106 rootstocks. As the amount of water given to the plants decreased, the leaf water potential, leaf relative water content also decreased, and growth of the shoots and trunk diameters significantly slowed
