A research on the adaptation of field pea (Pisum arvense L.) in Aegean region

Fifteen field pea lines obtained from ICARDA were grown under Menemen ecological conditions in 1995 and 1996, and were evaluated for number of days to flowering and maturity, plant type, lodging, vigour, 1000-seed weight, seed and biological yields. 1000-seed weight of lines ranked between 55.7 and 22.5 g. Seed yield varied in a range of 1200-5850 kg/ha while that of biological yield was of 13000-27000 kg/ha. It was concluded that field pea could be grown in Aegean region
