Researches on the distribution and population density of Parlatoria oleae (Colvée) (Hom. Diaspididae) in olive varieties in Izmir province
1995
Gumusay, B.
In this study, distribution and population density of Parlatoria oleae (Colvée) (Hom., Diaspididae) have been determined at olive groves in Izmir. According to the results, density of the pest was generally low. However it was higher in irrigated olive groves especially in ones set up with Domat cultivar. According to the biological studies, the pest produced two generations a year and generally hibernated as adult female while a few were in the second stage larvae in winter. It has been determined that hatching dates of active larvae, which establish a base for chemical control, occurred in the last week of May for first generation and in the end of July for second generation
