Mathematical model of concurrent-flow rice dryer

Mathematical model of concurrent-flow rice dryer was created in this study. The good aspect of the typical dryer is that it can use high temperature drying air so less stress occurs in rice kernel. The main equations are determined from energy and mass conservative rules of both drying air and paddy. These equations are in differential equation forms which can be solved by numerical method. Comparing the result from the mathematical model with the result from laboratory scale concurrent-flow rice dryer, the average moisture content difference was about 0.25 percent (db.).
