Economic possibility of adaptation of animal production for linking and harmonization to agriculture in United Europe

The paper discusses the economic possibilities and needs of Yugoslavia for adapting the agricultural production with the aim of exporting on the European market, especially meeting the EU countries' requirements. A comparative study has been conducted in order to analyze the agricultural production development with special reference to livestock production. Current meat production trends and possibilities of alternative programs, considering the available resources and meeting modern European market needs, are analyzed. From the standpoint of natural resources at disposal (structure and quality), current experiences and the personnel trained, Yugoslavia has economic possibilities of producing animal-origin foods, making it competitive and economically efficient on the European and World market.
