More important fattening traits of crossbreds obtained in crossbreeding Yugoslav Domestic Spotted cattle of lower production qualities with French fattening breeds Sharolais and Limousin have been investigated. The crosses had positive results regarding carcass development, confomation, fattening traits, increase in dressing percentage and meat quality. The ratio meat/tallow/bone indicates that the young bulls of a new genotype have less bone and greater meat content what indicates the advantage of using French fattening breeds in genetic improvement of a part of a population of Yugoslav Domestic Spotted cattle with the aim to obtain greater quantities of quality meat.
