"Baba Velka" [park forest in Belgrade, Yugoslavia] - state of vegetation and possibility for recreation

Park forest "Baba Velka", a part of the memorial complex "Stepin Lug", is extremely significant for Belgrade (Yugoslavia) and its inhabitants. The results of the study of its dendroflora cover 11 coniferous species and 18 species of broadleaved trees. The presented elements of growth include - diameter, total height, stem length, crown length and width, presence of pests, disease agents and mechanical injuries of abiotic and biotic origin. Based on the analyzed parameters, each species was evaluated, i.e. vitality, decorativeness and functionality. The suggested main directions of further landscaping take into account the primary functions of this park forest: creation of more healthy and pleasant conditions for Belgrade citizens, with a full evaluation of leisure and recreation potentials.
