Chemical composition of colostrum and milk in sows fed diets supplemented with peanut oil

Colostrum and milk of sows receiving a supplement of peanut oil characterized by a 2% higher energy content of total solids, fat and a higher energy concentration. An increase was found in the protein level in colostrum and milk of sows receiving a supplement of peanut oil. An increase in the level of unsaturated fatty acids, mostly of oleic C18:1 and linoleic C18:2 were found in the fat of colostrum and milk of sows receiving a supplement of peanut oil.
