Mulberry scale is a polyphagous pest. During the 2-year experiment, it has been registered on 6 localities in Serbia (Yugoslavia). Two generations per year occur. Sexually mature adult females overwinter. Females of the 2nd generation were registered from the end of June to the beginning of July. Females of the 2nd generation were registered from the end of August to the beginning of September. By sucking the juices of the plant the scale injuries the plant tissues which disrupt and wither. Control measures need to be taken in order to prevent tree trunk withering. Chemical treatments should be made during the vegetation period when the incidence of vagrant larvae is first registered.
